Abstract

The paper based on archival sources documents the activities of the painter Zdenka Braunerová during the international exhibition of female arts L'Exposition industrielle des Arts in 1892. Similarly as in a number of other expositions, the Czech lands were presented by demonstrations of folk textile and garments, traditional "work of female hands".

As a result of this, the main idea of the exhibition was complemented by ethnographic facts, which sometimes, especially in the case of the Central Europe, became predominant. Z.

Braunerová in Paris and Renáta Tyršová in Prague were the main organisers of the exposition, which represented our country very well and on a comparable European level.
