Abstract

The aim of this study was the evaluation of the relationship between the severity of atopic dermatitis (assessed with use of SCORAD index) and the occurrence of food allergy and food sensitisation to cow milk, wheat, egg, soy, peanuts, and sensitisation to mites, feather, animal dander, and dust. Two hundred and eighty-three patients were examined, 89 men and 194 women, average age 26.2.

The significant relation was detected between the severity of atopic dermatitis and sensitisation to all tested inhalant allergens; no significant relation was detected between the severity of atopic dermatitis and food allergy or food sensitisation to tested food allergens.
