Abstract

In 1784, Pasquale Bondini, a Prague impresario, included several older titles in his repertoire, presumably due his duties in two theatres (the Thun and Nostitz). Among these, opera buffa L'isola d'Alcina by G.

Gazzaniga (1772 Venice) has a strong comic plot and a some less usual dramaturgical features. Bondini staged this opera with adaptions originally made in Dresden 1773, which could have a special meaning in Prague performance.
