The lecture demonstrated the current criticism of school teaching/learning as unsubstantiated. The criticised focus on verbal knowledge instead of that on skills and competences, on drill instead of that on problem solving, and on abstract knowledge instead of that linked to the real worrld is not evidence-based by psychological research.
