Abstract

The expedition of British journalists into the Bohemian Paradise and toast stated to the "Entente cordiale" analyzes issues related to self-representation Czech society toward international politicy at a time when no official foreign policy was possible. The study - from a regional topic try to make a significant overlaps.

In June 1908 a second expedition of British journalists visited Czech lands. The aim of their visit was not only to visit the country but at the same time to bring evidence in important English, Scottish and Irish periodicals.

That was the reason why Czech National Council prepared the trip and oriented it to the region Czech Paradise (Turnovsko and Jičínsko) ; visited places were carefully selected n among others. French consul Georges Colomies at a gala banquet presented a "toast" to the "entente cordiale" between Bohemia-France-England.

This caused one of the biggest diplomatic scandals in Prague before 1914.
