The article draws attention to the third opera by Leoš Janáček Jenufa [Její pastorkyňa] and to its original model by Gabriela Preissová. It describes the genesis (1894-1903) and early reception of this opera in Brno (1904-08) and in Prague (1916).
It also mentions the revision of Karel Kovařovic on the occassion of the Prague premiere, as well as the sucsefull reconstructions of the original versions of Janáček's scores (1908, 1904) prepared in 1970s by John Tyrrell and Charles Mackerras and in 2007-08 by Mark Audus.
