Abstract

The absolute concentration of the active species is an important parameter for the DC glow discharge behavior. This is especially true for the discharges in pure oxygen, which often coexist in two forms - the so called H-form and T-form.

We applied 3D model to calibrate our setup to measure longitudinal profile of the oxygen atoms concentration along the discharge tube axis. Significant change in O and O2 concentrations has been observed in the transition region between the two mentioned forms.

The position of the step in concentration changes with discharge pressure at constant discharge current.
