Abstract
The talk was an introduction to a symposium devoted to problems of physics teacher training in the Czech Republic. The overview is based on information provided to the Working Group for Didactics of the Accreditation Committee; however, it also tries to cover a broader picture of the issues involved.
The aim was to initiate discussion on the problems in physics teacher training and possibilities how to solve them. The text below briefly summarizes also the conclusions of the symposium.
