"Act Locally, Think Regionally, Aspire Internationally?" : HBO Europe's Original Programming as a Challenge to PSB in Central-Eastern Europe"

Abstrakt

Based on in-depth interviews with execs, producers and writers from Prague, Warsaw and Budapest, this paper analyzes increasingly complex and tense relationships between HBO and the traditionally strong PSB networks of the CEE region. HBO is understood as a diversified multinational corporation, integrating in multiple media ecologies and redefining what globalization of media production is.
