Abstract
The paper analyses pulp and popular motives in ancient Egyptian literature putting it also into a broader context of Egyptian culture and wisdom. The complexity of Egyptian literature is shown in three separate case-studies on the Tale of Sinuhe, the Contending of Horus and Seth and the satirical papyrus Turin 55001.
