Abstract

The subject of the study is an intercultural training. The study begins with an introduction of basic intercultural competencies of personality developed in training programs.

Particularly, understanding and conceptualization of trained areas gives the intercultural training a distinct status of an applied discipline. In the second part of the text, the author gives a brief description of the development and establishment of intercultural trainings from the second half of the 20th century until present time.

The last part of the survey study deals with training contents (culturally general vs. culturally specific) and complements them with descriptions of basic training methods. The aim of this literary survey study is to promote awareness of intercultural training within the interested professional community.

The author has long been involved in preparation and lecturing on intercultural training in academia.
