This presentation will focus on the figure of female artist in the novels "Plen air" by Jagoda Truhelka and "Kamen on the road" by Marie Juric Zagorka as an epitome of contemporary urban type of concerned and rational woman. We will be describe critique of patriarchal concepts of femininity that are essentializing, reducializing female heroines to representation of their nature, because of this stereotyping we mostly focus on social and artistic emancipation through literary text in the context of modernist culture.
