Abstract
A study of the varieties of the grotesque in the work of some of the most original contemporary playwrights (Philip Ridley, Mark O'Rowe, Enda Walsh, Suzan-Lori Parks, Tim Crouch), focusing on ethical and political issues that are addressed through the use of the grotesque.
