Abstrakt

In the Czech Republic, the issue of the so-called risks of dyslexia (risks of the emergence of dyslexia and risk factors in the development of literacy) or so-called precursors of dyslexia has been developed, especially on the practical level. There are several screening and diagnostic tools which can be used to identify the developmental level of pupils of preschool and early school age in the areas necessary for the development of literacy skills (Lazarová, 1999; Švancarová & Kucharská, 2001; Sindelar, 2010) and these point to the need to establish systematic training for a particular child.

There are numerous methodologies and methodical materials which can be used to support the development of different component skills and abilities. Until today, however, few studies in the Czech Republic have investigated the development of children at risk of literacy difficulties or have mapped the text comprehension skills of children with dyslexia.

This presentation refers about such recently realised studies.
