Teaching styles belowe tha discovery threshold in the swimming teaching

Abstract

The command style has prevalent use in the swimming education. From a wider point of view, there are limits of using a full spectrum of teaching styles: unfavorable conditions for communication in a pool environment, low age of pupils, a safety of lessons in the water environment and the risk of the rapid coldness of pupils in the water.

Recent research evaluated practice, reciprocal and self-check spectrum styles in the swimming education. In the context of a swimming lesson, there is a possibility to use teaching styles before the discovery threshold.

The spectrum styles before a discovery threshold are used in subjects Theory and Basic of Swimming Didactics and Seminary to the teaching of swimming in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague.
