Abstract

The text is an introduction to the anthology of texts concerning the theory of ethnicity. The anthology consists of the Czech translation of 24 key contributions to the anthropological theory of ethnicity published in the West in the last decades.

The introduction offers an overview of the establishment and evolution of ethnicity studies both in the West and in the Czech Republic.
