We present a fluorescence based sensor system for detection of chemical compounds in gas phase that can be easily integrated into detection parts of present chromatographic devices. Fluorescence sensor is based on 1,8-naphalimide based dye attached to a 75 μm glass beads and placed in a capillary.
We have measured changes in fluorescence spectra in the presence of various organic vapors. Spectral changes at various concentrations of studied organic compounds are presented and possible mechanisms of sensor response are presented.
