Abstrakt
Rhenium complexes with suitable organic ligands play important role in medicine, catalysis and the development of novel sources of energy. We synthetized and chromatographically purified ReVII-catechol complex and studied its properties by means of UV/Vis absorption and spectroelectrochemical experiment.
We observed complex redox behaviour involving reversible and irreversible electrochemical processes. Based on comparison of absorption spectra of rhenium complexes obtained via controlled chemical oxidation of ReV complexes and the absorption spectra provided by spectroelectrochemistry, we ascribed electron transition between ReVII and ReV species.
