Abstract

The very first translation of the Hebrew chronicle written by the Renaissance Jewish scholar David Gans (1541-1613) and published in 1592 in Prague. The two-part chronicle contains the parallel survey of events of the Jewish and general history and was created on the basis of humanistic historical metodology.

The translation is completed with the detailed scientific commentary.
