Physical activity in patients treated for haemophilia

Abstract

A lot od prejudice still occur regarding excercise of patients with haemophillia. In past they were advised against sport participation mainly because of concerns about possible damage to joints and muscles after repeated bleeding.

However with arrival of factor prophylaxis treatment, spontaneous bleeding almost ceased to occur and correctly managed treatment enables pacients with haemphillia to participate in excercise with minimum restrictions. The following article offers basic information and recommendations for excercise of patients with haemophillia.
