Lexical rules used in the dictionary VALLEX for creation of a syntactically annotated corpus

Abstract

This chapter describes utilization of lexical rules for generating various diatheses (including the basic one, i.e. active voice) of verb frames contained in VALLEX dictionary. The generated frames are used by a grammar, which checks the correctness of syntactic structures assigned to sentences in the corpus by a stochastic parser.
