Informants and their role in criminal proceeding

Abstract

The article briefly discusses a problem of informants and their role in criminal proceedings. It examines different definitions of the term informant, regulation of payments provided to informants by state authorities for their service as well as models of management of informants and their influence on the quality of obtained information.

It mainly emphasizes different procedural roles that informants take in criminal proceedings and the danger of absence of respektive legal regulation.
