This paper focuses on social and historical factors of social change toward applying ecological behavior and animal ethics which are closely related to each other. First part is dedicated to various reasons of why are people getting more aware of interspecies and ecological ethic.
Among others there are mentioned romanticism, darwinism, ethology and other related issues which support this trend. Second part discusses barriers which hinder this ethical progress like conservativism of social institutions, ideologies, personal rationalizations of status quo etc.
This critical analysis not only describes these processes but also aim to support desirable social progress.
