Abstract

The ongoing fourth industrial revolution is affecting the production and consumption trends in all sectors across the economy. It causes a change in consumer behaviour and it causes pressure to change of production processes.

It highlights the impact of connectivity, digitization and automation. This publication deals the first with overall view of the implications of the fourth industrial revolution.

One of the key questions is also how education system would be changed and how can be people prepared for the changing qualification requirements of the labour market. Then it focuses on the automotive industry, as a sector, which is the biggest supporter of research and development in Europe.

In this sector there are changes caused by the fourth industrial revolution manifested among the first from all sectors of the economy. In the second part of the publication there is analysed, what changes have occurred in the automotive industry in past years.

The third part shows the direction in which the automotive industry could be in the following years. It shows the possible technological developments and new markets, which will be most promoted.
