This chapter is divided into three parts. The first part offers insight into curricular documents and its aim is to look into the concept of phonetics and phonology in these documents.
We deal with the current situation at Czech universities in terms of teaching French phonetics and phonology; both pedagogical and non-pedagogical study fields have been researched. The second part introduces some specialists who engage in phonetics and phonology not only theoretically, but who aim at applying their research results to teaching methods.
We mention topics and areas which these specialists deal with, their publications, and grant projects which are being worked on or have been worked on recently. We have not forgotten to mention Czech periodicals which study the Romance languages.
The third part brings an insight into the concept of French phonetics and phonology at PedF UK, the syllabi of its lectures and seminars and the teaching methods.
