The newly descovered petroglyphs in the Pashkhurt Valley

Abstract

The paper presents a report of the archaeological survey in the oasis of Zarabag in south Uzbekistan in the season 2015. The fieldwork consisted of extensive and intensive prospection directly in the village Zarabag and in its nearest surroundings.

Numerous evidence of human presence in the area of the village from various historical periods have been detected - burial grounds (kurgans), settlement features (tepas), water sources (springs and kazer system) as well as petroglyphs.
