Abstract

This contribution intends to set up a framework for future studies on social inequality in the Late Bronze Age western Anatolia. The paper begins with a theoretical introduction of concepts related to social structure, political economy, and the development of social inequality within complex pre-state and early state societies.

The main part discusses the western Anatolian evidence.
