Abstract
The nephrology belongs into the wide family of internal medical disciplines. However, such as is other internal subdisciplines, the necessity for the deep knowledge gave the background to this speciality.
Begigning of Czech nephrology is associated with famous and extreme hard-working colleagues. Now, their successors should také the responsibility for the continual development of nephrology subspeciality and also for cooperation with internal medicine per se.
