Princess Yaroslavna of Mezensk Demesne, or Why Igor's wife laments "na zabralě"

Abstract

The article is dedicated to a part of East Slavic epic poem - Yaroslavna's lament in the Tale of Igor's Campaign. A comparison with a living oral tradition allows answering a question why the princess laments on a defensive wall.

The text analysis affords specifying of a dating of the Tale of Igor's Campaign's creation.
