Abstract
The chapter deals with the permanent search for a concept of education as a science. It poses the question about the crisis of education which cannot be solved by scientific means, and it draws attention to the unresolved aspects of the relationship between the Life-world (Lebenswelt) and scientific knowledge in education of children and the young.
