Inaccessibility of Self. Philosophical Perspectives on Subjectivity

Publication at Faculty of Humanities |
2016

Abstract

In this volume, we investigate the possibilities to seize the self in a certain way. But also, we evenly explore the possibilities to emphasize its inaccessibility are the content with it as such.

Our hope is that if operate within this tension between accessibility and inaccessibility, we can open up a plurality of perspectives on the self and portray the ones already existing. Using a historical-philosophical "retrospective", we are perhaps able to demonstrate, to describe this mysterious, inaccessible self itself.
