Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify a Lifestyle Questionnaire designed by the author to find relationships between the lifestyle, personality and psychological well-being of professional soldiers. The sample consisted of 81 respondents (mean age 38,6, SD = 7,2, min. 26 and max. 61 years).

There were 42 women and 39 men. The questionnaires used were the Lifestyle Questionnaire (designed by the author), the Big Five Inventory (BFI-44), a Scale of "Cultural Empathy" from the Multicultural Personality Questionnaire (MPQ), the Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ) and the Scales of Psychological Well-Being by Carol Ryff (SPWB).

The results suggest that the soldiers largely follow the principles of a healthy lifestyle (91.4 % exercise regularly, 70.4 % do not smoke, they also consume alcohol appropriately and have mostly good eating habits). The research confirmed some implicit assumptions arising from the construction of the questionnaires and some new relationships that are so far little explored were discovered.
