Abstract
The paper traces the history of Albanian Studies and research at Charles University in Prague with particular regard to the development of the specialization within the past 10 years.One of the reasons of the increasing recent popularity of the Albanian Studies is the inclusion of the teaching of the Albanian language, literature and history into the curriculum at the Department of South Slavic and Balkan Studies at Charles University in Prague.
