Abstract
Systematical proofs of mathematical theorems can be found in ancient Greek mathematical texts for the first time. These texts focus on logic and theoretical considerations about deductive science.
In this article we will focus on examples of proofs selected from ancient mathematical texts which demonstrate various methods of proving theorems with an eye on relations to school mathematics. First we will mention some general aspects of proving.
