Article analytically explores the important 24th music educational conference EAS (European Association for Music in Schools) entitled Looking for the unexpected: Creativity and innovation in music education, held in March 2016 in Vilnius. The student and doctoral forum, symposium of national coordinators of individual member states of the conference approaches, among others, some there presented research results related to musical creativity of children (MusikKreativ +) or musical preferences of youth.
It also emphasises the importance of activities of the organisations EAS and Visegrad Music Team.
