Reminiscence in the concepts of care for older adults

Abstract

The article brings a new approach to reminiscence as a method of work with older adults, which is a necessary and initial point of the person centred approach, respecting their dignity, uniqueness and autonomy. It brings the concepts of care, which are accepted in the CR at presence and indicates reminiscence as their common denominater, as it enables to use a person's biography, supports relationships and community.

The article also informs about the roots of reminiscence work in the CR and point out the difference between terms occuring in this area.
