Town and University. A Few Remarks on the Topic and its Role in the Synthetic Works on Urban History

Abstract
The chapter is focused on the mutual relationship between towns and universities. Several examples are showed on the case of Charles University in Prague as the oldest Central European university, whose relations to Bohemian towns were usually very strong.
The author tries to describe the ways, how to use the edited and digitized sources for the history of Charles University also as sources for urban history.
