Abstract

The importance of physical activities for human health (not only in psychiatric patients) is clear and if these are carried out in the way appropriate to one's age, sex and abilities and one's general physical condition, the may be beneficial and may help prevent a whole range of diseases of civilization. Another important factor which may play a role is the fact that people carry out their physical activities in social settings, including people one likes (cohesion).

This is a good motivator and it also strengthens one's habit of regularity and sense of meaningful activity. Physical activity is meaningful both healthy people and in people with a handicap or a disorder.
