The topic of this monograph is the beautiful relationship of Pierre de Coubertin to the Czechs and the Czech lands which sprang from his friendship with Jiří Stanislav Guth-Jarkovský and which enabled the Czech athletes to participate at the modern Olympic Games at the time of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire as an independent subject. The text also concentrates on Coubertin's contribution to the fact that the important VIII Olympic Congress in 1925 was assigned to Prague, where Coubertin also said good bye to his long Olympic career.
