Abstract
Through quantifying methods, the author attempts to analyze the relationship of Czech film to sport. Firstly, he focuses on the silent film era (until 1930), later, the author concentrates on the first period of sound film (until 1945).
The book is concluded with a profile of the director Vladimír Slavínský who used sport in his films the most.
