Abstract
This text concentrates on the processing of the new modern urban monographs being published as part of the History of Bohemian, Moravian and Silesian towns edition by the Lidové noviny publishing house, with the main target to present and mediate new knowledge of the regional historiography based on a thorough archival and archaeological research, to objectively review the present publishing outcomes and, at the same time, point out the many blank spaces still present in the individual towns' histories.
