Abstract

What is the moral status of animals? Do we have any obligations toward them? The lecture focuses on the responses of three contemporary philosophers: there are only human rights (Peter Carruthers); human rights or animal rights do not exist at all (Peter Singer); there are both: human rights and animal rights (Tom Regan).
