Abstract
Oligarchization of newspaper can lead to their instrumentalization. When oligarch buys newspaper, journalists react by quitting their jobs, not reporting on an owner, or they continue reporting with claiming potential conflict of interests.
Columnist Peter Schutz from SME daily choosed different approach - intense criticism of new co-owner of the publishing house, in newspaper partially owned by the oligarch. This article analyses these columns and reaction of the oligarch.
It uses qualitative method - in-depth interview with Peter Schutz, to clarify his motivations and context.
