Current transformation of legislation on tourism

Publication at Faculty of Law |
2016

Abstract

The paper attempts to provide a survey of the most topical changes in legislation on tourism, which are unfortunately very frequent, and to analyse the possible consequences. The only special law regulating tourism, Act N.159/1999 Sb., was significantly amended in the end of 2015.

A new European directive was adopted to replace the key Directive 90/314/EEC. The benefits of possible adoption of a brand new law on the support for development of tourism or on changes in legal regulation of local charges are being discussed.

Considerable changes are related to issues connected with tourism, such as the preparation of a new law regulating preservation of monuments. Chaos in legislation has negatively impacted on tourism.
