Abstract
This critical edition comprises the whole correspondence o Karel Havlíček both written by him and addressed to him up to the end of 1842. The core of the volume is created by Havlíček's letters to his parents, mainly form his Prague studies of philosophy and theology, there is also some correspondence with student friends and authorities.
Most of the letters were written in German: in our edition they are presented in a new translation into Czech as well as in original. The volume opens with studies on the history of publishing Havlíček's correspondence, on the method of translation, and on Havlíček's youth.
The letters are equipped with thorough comments, the calendar of Havlíček's life and work, and relevant photographs.
