The achievement of a long lasting stable compensation of the type 2 diabetes mellitus during the combined treatment with sitagliptin and metformin

Abstract

A well-cooperating patient with the type 2 diabetes who achieved a long lasting stable compensation of diabetes mellitus during the combined treatment with sitagliptin and metformin is presented in our case report. He was previously satisfactorily treated with metformin monotherapy, but this treatment became inadequate after 8 years and a combined regimen had to be selected.

Sitagliptin proved to be ideal in such combination.
