Protection of the land from the legal perspective

Abstract

The presented article focuses mainly on the issue of protection of the land. The matter is discussed not only from the legal perspective but also from the natural science point of view, with regards to cultural, social and political context.

The general purpose of the paper is to point out current problems related to soils and present possible solutions before the irrevocable damage will be done. First, the article explains soil as one part of the environment as well as a natural source.

After that, the problem of erosion is described and possibilities of land protection by means of law are shown. The main challenges in the field of protection of the land are described, then, including issues of persistent land loses, land contamination and decreasing fertility of land.

Water management, ecological agriculture and the good forestry practices are also discussed in connection with the contemporary land protection challenges. Finally, measures which need to be taken are described and the necessity of the protection of the land through improved means of law is highlighted.
