Abstract

The global financial crisis did not significantly affect the Czech banking sector. Due to its massive deposit base, the Czech banking sector did not suffer from a lack of liquidity during the crisis.

In contrast to most other European countries, the Czech Government did not have to provide any subsidies to the banking sector.
