Pekař was a conservative Historian. He was convinced about negative impact of religious conflicts on Czech history.
He was an opponent of historical theologie of F. M.
Bartoš. Bartoš created concretization of Czech history under the influence of works of many historians and philosophers (F.
Palacký, T. G.
Masaryk).
