Abstract
The paper follows development of types of orders of illumination from Caroligians period to 16th century, situation abroad is being compared to that in the Czech lands. The study focuses on changes in choice of basic types of luxury books in cultural historical context of their creation.
Similar and different aspects of changes of the cultural codes in the historical evolution are studied in the field of artistic exchange among countries (cultural circles), but also in the context of relatioship of center and periferies, and also problems connected to production of Hussite and aftrehussite period are followed, with a overlap to 16th century.
